In Madison

Wisconsin State Capitol Building
2 E Main St
Madison, WI   53702

Visit the capital building of the 30th state to be accepted into the union. This historical building reaches over 265ft in height, with an elegant gilded bronze statue on top, created by Daniel Chester French. Edwin Blashfield decorated the interior of the dome room in the rotunda, which is the only granite dome in the US. The inside is lavishly decorated, and is a cultural and historical site for all to see.

In Milwaukee

Milwaukee Art Museum
700 N Art Museum Dr
Milwaukee, WI   53202
414-224-3200

Dramatically renovated and expanded in 2001, the museum includes several unique architectural features that make the building itself a work of art. Popular architect Santiago Calatrava contributed his first building in the US, with the Quadracci Pavilion featuring a 90-foot high glass-walled reception hall, and the Burke Brise Soleil sunscreen that can be raised or lowered to create a moving sculpture on the building. Also featured is a 280-foot-long suspended pedestrian bridge that links downtown Milwaukee directly to the lakefront and the museum. Inside, the MAM houses nearly 20,000 works of art ranging from ancient artifacts to objects of the present.

Milwaukee Public Museum
800 West Wells Street
Milwaukee, WI   53233
888-468-0037

With an IMAX Theater, Planeterium, outstanding exhibitions and events, this is truly a "people's museum." Kids and adults alike will delight in the museum's 150,000 sq ft of exhibit space where they can visit Africa, Asia, Europe, the Arctic, South and Middle America, the Pacific Island and a Costa Rican rainforest - all under one roof. See the world's largest (known) dinosaur skull and a life-sized replica of T-Rex. In The Puelicher Butterfly Wing, you can walk amongst free-flying butterflies from around the world.
