Visit the capital building of the 30th state to be accepted into the union. This historical building reaches over 265ft in
height, with an elegant gilded bronze statue on top, created by Daniel Chester French. Edwin Blashfield decorated the interior
of the dome room in the rotunda, which is the only granite dome in the US. The inside is lavishly decorated, and is a cultural
and historical site for all to see.

Dramatically renovated and expanded in 2001, the museum includes several unique architectural features that make the building
itself a work of art. Popular architect Santiago Calatrava contributed his first building in the US, with the Quadracci Pavilion
featuring a 90-foot high glass-walled reception hall, and the Burke Brise Soleil sunscreen that can be raised or lowered to
create a moving sculpture on the building. Also featured is a 280-foot-long suspended pedestrian bridge that links downtown
Milwaukee directly to the lakefront and the museum. Inside, the MAM houses nearly 20,000 works of art ranging from ancient
artifacts to objects of the present.
